Darlene Yang’s a beautiful woman, but she’s very closed-off. During the period I was only working here part-time, all I learnt about her was that her grandparents were born in Korea.

Now I’m a fulltime employee in her little flower shop, I know a few more pieces of the puzzle. A nasty divorce. Her friends worry about her. One comes up once a year to check on her. She always tells Nick that he doesn’t have to come.
