1. Defying Gravity – Chris Colfer Early on, Nick had been hesitating. He had just realised that he was gay and wanted be careful. Alan had always known and was secure in the knowledge of who he was. He also had nothing left to lose. He couldn’t see why Nick wanted to be so careful and remain in the shadows. Alan was ready to shout out their love to the entire world. Nick was too afraid. They argued and argued over and over again. It always ended at a stalemate and Alan was almost in tears. He understood the fear, but felt like he didn’t mean anything to Nick. It got so bad that Alan made an ultimatum: him or nothing. Nick felt something change inside of him and laced their fingers together the next time they were out in public. |
